Before the Bihar Vidhan Sabha Election 2025, one of Bihar’s most prestigious universities, Patna University, is set to hold its Student Union Elections on March 29. However, major political shifts are already visible in university politics.

In Patna University Student Union Elections, various political parties in Bihar had extended their support to different candidates. Among them was Jan Suraaj, a well-known new party founded by Prashant Kishor, which had backed Divesh Deenu for the president’s position. However, just before the elections, Jan Suraaj withdrew its support for Divesh Deenu, accusing him of involvement in wrongful activities and corruption.

Now, for the Patna University Student Union Elections, Jan Suraaj has announced its support for NSUI-backed candidate Manoranajan Kumar Raja.

Candidate Accused of Wrongful Activities

After withdrawing its support for Divesh Deenu, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj accused him of involvement in money transactions and candidate trading. The party also alleged that Deenu was working with ABVP to influence election results. It was claimed that he was engaged in bribery and unethical deals with ABVP’s support.

Jan Suraaj, in its statement, clearly said, “We cannot support any individual involved in unethical activities.”

Additionally, Jan Suraaj urged students to choose their candidates wisely and vote responsibly. The party also advised students to support only those who are honest and committed to protecting their interests.
