New Delhi, July 17, 2025 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today he’s going to Motihari in Bihar on July 18. He’ll kick off a bunch of development works that add up to more than Rs 7,200 crore. The idea is to help build better roads, trains, and other stuff to make life easier for folks there.

He posted about it on X & mentioned he’ll dedicate some finished projects to the country and start others by laying foundation stones. It’s all about improving things like tech hubs, new rail lines, and support for fishing communities. This fits into the government’s push to get Bihar moving forward.

Will be in Motihari, Bihar, tomorrow, 18th July. Development works worth Rs. 7200 crore will be dedicated to the nation or their foundation stones would be laid. These works cover Software Technology Parks, four new Amrit Bharat trains, road projects and more.…

What’s Getting Done on the Trip

On the rail side, Modi will open up automatic signaling for the Samastipur-Bachhwara route. That should help trains run without as many hold-ups. There are also plans to double tracks on lines like Darbhanga-Thalwara and Samastipur-Rambhadrapur, which cost over Rs 580 crore total. People say this will let more trains go through and cut down on delays.

For tech stuff, new centers from Software Technology Parks of India are coming to Darbhanga and Patna. These spots will give IT folks and startups a place to work, hopefully creating jobs and getting more software exports going.

Fishing gets attention too. Under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, he’ll launch things like fish hatcheries, biofloc systems, and feed mills in different Bihar districts. The point is to grow more fish, give jobs to locals, and boost the economy in villages.

Trains, Funds, and Housing Help

One cool part is flagging off four new Amrit Bharat trains. They’ll link Patna to New Delhi, Motihari to Delhi, Darbhanga to Lucknow, and Malda Town to Lucknow. This should make it simpler for people to travel between Bihar and other places.

Modi will also hand out money to self-help groups—about Rs 400 crore for over 61,500 of them under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojna. It’s mostly for women-led groups, and nationwide, it’s hooked up more than 10 crore women. On top of that, over Rs 160 crore goes to 40,000 people for rural houses through Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana. Some will even get their house keys right there.

The Event and Why It Matters

He’ll talk to a crowd in Motihari during the visit. It’s a sign the government is serious about helping Bihar catch up. The projects touch on rails, roads, village growth, fish farming, and IT. Leaders think it’ll create jobs and better connections for everyone.

Bihar has had these kinds of pushes before, and this one builds on them. Locals are excited to see real changes, like easier commutes and more work options. We’ll know more after tomorrow’s event, but for now, it’s got people talking.
