Ritika Hooda Wins Silver Medal for India at Asian Wrestling Championship 2025

Ritika Hooda has secured a silver medal for India at the Asian Wrestling Championship 2025. She won the medal in the women’s freestyle 76kg category. The championship took place in Amman, Jordan, where Ritika faced Aiperi Medet Kyzy of Kyrgyzstan. Ritika initially took the lead in the match, but in the final moments, Aiperi secured a 7-6 victory, leaving Ritika with the silver medal.

Earlier, Ritika had secured her place in the final by defeating Japan’s Nodoka Yamamoto 10-0 in the semifinals. In the quarterfinals, she dominated South Korea’s Seoyeon Jeong with another 10-0 victory.

Along with Ritika, India’s Mansi Lather and Muskan also won bronze medals at the Asian Wrestling Championship 2025. Muskan claimed her bronze medal by defeating Mongolia’s Altjin Togtokh, although she had suffered a 12-2 loss against Japan’s Sakura Onishi in the quarterfinals.

Mansi Lather won her medal in the 68kg category by defeating Kazakhstan’s Irina Kazyulina. However, she faced a tough challenge in the semifinals, losing 1-10 to China’s Zelu Li.
