Karrm Developers promoted several housing projects as affordable homes for lower-middle-class families. These included Karrm Residency in Dhasai village, Shahpur; Karrm Panchtatve in Kasagaon, Shahpur; and Karrm Brahmaand at Kelve Road, Palghar. The company reportedly used fake documents to sell agricultural land, claiming it was ready for construction. In reality, the land could not be used for homes, and the promised properties were never built. This left thousands of buyers, many of whom had put in their life savings, with nothing to show for their money.
Vivek Oberoi, a popular actor, played a role in marketing these projects. He endorsed them, which may have convinced many buyers to trust the company. However, the ED has not directly blamed Oberoi for any illegal actions in the scam. The focus of the investigation remains on the directors and other main figures at Karrm Developers.
